Planting Instructions:

Seeds require cold stratification.

Indoors: Sprinkle seeds in an ice cube tray and fill with water. Keep in freezer at least 2 weeks. Drop seed-filled ice cubes in garden before the final Spring frost.

Outdoors: Before last Fall frost, broadcast seed on top of soil and lightly cover.

The name Drama Queen says it all-- this poppy is wild looking with shaggy petals that are deep purple at the crown and bright red on the ends. The petals last only one day but the fuzzy reproductive organs senesce into classic domed seed heads that scatter seeds everywhere and also look amazing fresh or dried in any cut flower arrangement.

The stems grow quite tall and sturdy, up to 3 feet, so interplant them where they will rise above shorter plants and add a pop of colour. But be careful not to shade them out. Poppies love full sun.
